Byrd family (+ maternity)

Kolby is another one of those little boys who I have watched grow into a little man. I started photographing the Byrd family 2 years ago and can’t wait to see them again when ‘baby Byrd’ joins the crew.

I am so thankful that there was a break in the weather that allowed us to sneak outside for a few photos. I came across this fall scene just around the corner from their home and just had to use it!

Ackerman family

One reason I love my job is that it involves so much variety. I get to see different faces, work with a range of ages (gotta love those 2 year olds!) and travel around the county. The Ackerman family lives in Nooksack where I have been itching to use the teal building owned by Vavra Autobody. Fortunately Amy and her crew were up for it and they braved the chilly weather to snag some outdoor photos

Since big sis is a cheerleader and the boys were given handmade sweaters to showoff their Nooksack pride we attempted a photo of the three. However … the boys decided they had better things to do :)

One hot mamma

I’ve always thought pregnant women were glowing with beauty but my friend Shari takes it to a whole new level. Shari is a personal trainer who has not let any of her 4 pregnancies slow her down … wait until you see some of her fitness photos. Next round we’ll include husband Kurt and baby girl.

*update: Blakely Hope was born happy and healthy …. and of course beautiful*

I cannot tell you how much Shari has inspired me to be a healthy mom… and I haven’t even started a family yet! She is planning on putting together a book to encourage mom’s to stay healthy WITH their families. Here are just a handful of simple exercises she does with her children … even when she’s 8 months pregnant. Seriously Shari – you rock!

Can’t go wrong with an old red barn

While visiting some family in Colville I snapped a few photos of Alyssa and Elana around their grandparents old red barn. The hay bale elevator brought back memories of running up and down the one we had on our old farm. Seeing all the jagged pieces made me wonder what we were doing playing on such a thing as children … along with the other farm ‘toys’ we spent our time on.  Ahhhhh the memories
